Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to move into a supportive secondary school environment?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in Warrington that is looking for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their Designated Provision.

This Secondary Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to work closely with a small, experienced team supporting students with mild SEN. You will provide targeted support on a one to one and small group basis, helping students access learning and develop their confidence within the school environment.

The Designated Provision has a very strong and supportive team, making this an excellent opportunity for a Secondary Teaching Assistant who wants to develop their experience of working with students with additional needs.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with mild SEN on a one to one and small group basis
  • Work within the school's Designated Provision
  • Help students access the wider secondary curriculum
  • Provide additional support with classroom learning and activities
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement
  • Work closely with the Designated Provision team and teaching staff
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with students

The role would suit a Secondary Teaching Assistant with previous experience supporting young people, although candidates with relevant experience in primary education, care, youth work or other support-based roles may also be considered.

The successful candidate will be patient, approachable and confident working with students who may require additional encouragement or adaptations to their learning.
