Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Daventry

Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
Salary: £100 - £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Daventry, seeking a confident and dedicated HLTA to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a more active role within the classroom, delivering pre-planned lessons and supporting pupils from EYFS through to Year 6.

The Role:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher

  • Lead whole-class learning and activities across Reception to Year 6

  • Support small groups and individual pupils to improve engagement and learning outcomes

  • Provide targeted interventions for pupils requiring additional academic or SEND support

  • Support teachers with lesson preparation, assessment, and classroom organisation where appropriate

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence and independence

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and the wider school team

What We're Looking For:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience within a UK primary school

  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching and learning strategies

  • Experience working across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2

  • Confidence leading whole-class learning and managing behaviour

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • A flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's education

  • A genuine commitment to providing high standards of learning, care, and inclusion
