The Role:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving student attendance across the school. You will work closely with students, parents, staff, and external agencies to identify attendance concerns and support positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and recording daily student attendance.

  • Following up on absences and lateness with parents and carers.

  • Producing attendance reports and maintaining accurate records.

  • Working with pastoral teams to support students with attendance concerns.

  • Liaising with external agencies where appropriate.

  • Ensuring attendance procedures comply with school policies and safeguarding requirements.

  • Providing general administrative support related to attendance and student welfare.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school administration or attendance role is desirable.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
