Caretaker - Wellingborough

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Wellingborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance skills who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented school environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and ready for staff and pupils each day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across the school site.

• Ensuring the school buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe and well maintained.

• Completing regular health and safety checks and reporting any issues.

• Responding to maintenance requests and dealing with minor repairs.

• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment when required.

• Maintaining the school grounds and outdoor areas.

• Managing site security, including opening and locking the school premises.

• Liaising with contractors and external service providers when required.

• Supporting the school with emergency maintenance and repairs.

• Ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience in a caretaker, maintenance, facilities, or similar role.

• Good practical and DIY skills.

• A proactive and reliable approach to their work.

• The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• An understanding of health and safety procedures.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
