Teaching Assistant
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / January 2027

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Wellingborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students in the classroom, helping them to engage with their learning and develop their confidence and independence.

The Role:

  • Supporting students in the classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis.

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.

  • Supporting students who may have additional learning needs.

  • Encouraging students to engage positively with their education.

  • Providing support with literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum where required.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping to maintain a productive learning environment.

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students.

  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school, education, care, youth work, or support setting.

  • Is patient, approachable, and enthusiastic.

  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Is confident supporting students with a range of needs.

  • Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.

  • Is committed to helping students achieve their academic and personal potential.

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment.
