SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD ARP | Hayes

£95-£115 per day | Full-time | Long-term opportunity

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils with Autism in a dedicated ARP within a mainstream primary school?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a large primary school in Hayes, Hillingdon, who are looking for a passionate and experienced SEN TA/LSA to join their specialist ASD provision.

The school has a dedicated 24-place SEN ARP supporting pupils with Autism, providing a structured, nurturing environment where pupils can develop their communication, independence and learning skills.

The Role

As an SEN TA within the ARP, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism/ASD on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Supporting communication, interaction and social development
  • Helping pupils manage sensory needs and emotional regulation
  • Using visual supports and communication strategies
  • Supporting learning both within the ARP and, where appropriate, mainstream classrooms
  • Helping pupils develop independence and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals
  • Providing a calm, consistent and nurturing approach throughout the school day

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with ASD/SEND
  • Has worked as an SEN TA, LSA, Teaching Assistant or similar
  • Is patient, nurturing and consistent
  • Understands the importance of communication and relationship-building
  • Can confidently support pupils with a range of needs
  • Is keen to develop their SEN experience within a specialist ARP

Team Teach, Makaton, PECS or other relevant SEND experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
