Maths Teacher

A large Catholic secondary school for boys based in Hounslow are looking for a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team.

The school are looking for someone to start ASAP on a long-term contract until at least July 2027.

This position will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths and would be suitable for an experienced teacher looking to develop their teaching career within a supportive school environment.

This is a full-time position, with working hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Salary will match Outer London MPS/UPS, depending on experience.

The school has available parking spaces for staff.

Maths Teacher

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students develop strong mathematical knowledge, understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge students of different abilities and encourage them to achieve their full academic potential.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching approaches to support individual learning needs.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations by developing their confidence, mathematical reasoning and ability to apply concepts to unfamiliar problems.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment where students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and develop a genuine interest in Mathematics.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department to contribute to curriculum development, assessment and the continued improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Embrace the Catholic ethos and values of the school, contributing positively to the wider school community and supporting students' academic, social and personal development.

Qualifications and Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A relevant degree
  • Strong subject knowledge of Mathematics across KS3 and KS4
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, approachable and encouraging manner
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A commitment to supporting students to achieve their full potential
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school

M1 - M6 salaries are aligned to experience within the Main Pay Range. Teachers typically progress annually from M1 through to M6. UPS requires formal application. TLR payments are made for agreed, sustained additional duties outside of regular teaching.
