SEN Teacher - ASD ARP | Hayes

£165-£285 per day | Full-time | Long-term opportunity

Are you a passionate SEN Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Autism?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a large primary school in Hayes, Hillingdon, who are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join their dedicated ASD ARP.

The school's specialist provision supports 24 pupils with Autism, working alongside the mainstream school to provide a structured, nurturing and inclusive environment tailored around individual needs.

The Role

As the SEN Teacher within the ARP, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated learning that enables pupils with ASD to make meaningful progress.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons adapted to individual needs
  • Support pupils with Autism and communication/interaction needs
  • Develop individualised learning and behaviour strategies
  • Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with experienced SEN TAs and the wider school team
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress
  • Contribute towards EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO and external professionals
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and communication development
  • Help pupils develop greater independence and confidence

We're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children with ASD/SEND
  • A strong understanding of differentiated teaching
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
  • Someone who can adapt their teaching to meet individual pupil needs
  • A genuine passion for working within specialist education

Experience teaching within an ARP, SEN school or specialist provision would be highly desirable.
