We are currently working with a supportive primary school in Rushden that is looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor for an immediate start.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise primary-aged pupils when their usual teacher is unavailable. Lessons will be pre-planned and provided, allowing you to focus on maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task.

You will work across different year groups and subjects, supporting pupils with their learning while maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils across a range of primary year groups.

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils complete their work.

• Maintain a calm, positive, and purposeful classroom environment.

• Set clear expectations and manage behaviour consistently.

• Support pupils with their learning and encourage engagement.

• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• Communicate relevant feedback and concerns to teaching staff.

• Support with breaktime, lunchtime, playground, and other school duties when required.

• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with children through education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, care, or a similar setting.

• Confident managing a classroom and behaviour.

• Calm, patient, reliable, and organised.

• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

• Professional and confident when working with primary-aged children.

• Passionate about helping children learn and succeed.

• Able to commit to a full-time, long-term position.

Previous primary school experience is desirable but not essential.
