Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Art Teacher to join a secondary school in Widnes from 30 September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Art Teacher seeking a short-term teaching position, with the role expected to run for up to 8 weeks.

The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, joining an established department and delivering engaging, creative and appropriately challenging lessons to pupils across the secondary age range.

The Role

• Art Teacher - KS3 & KS4
• Widnes secondary school
• Start date: 30 September 2026
• Duration: Up to 8 weeks
• Full-time teaching position
• Teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons
• Supporting pupils to develop their artistic skills, creativity and confidence
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, effort and achievement
• Assessing pupil progress and providing appropriate feedback
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Art department and wider school

About the School

The school is a well-established secondary school in the Widnes area, providing education to pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful Art Teacher will become an important part of the school's creative curriculum for the duration of the placement. The school is looking for a teacher who can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and colleagues and deliver consistently high-quality Art lessons.

This role would suit an experienced Art Teacher looking for a short-term opportunity, as well as teachers who are available for work during the autumn term and are looking to secure a placement from the end of September.

The Ideal Art Teacher

The successful candidate will ideally:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching Art at KS3 and KS4
• Have strong subject knowledge across the secondary Art curriculum
• Be confident planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons
• Be able to differentiate effectively for pupils of varying abilities
• Have high expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils
• Be able to quickly integrate into an established department
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for Art and a commitment to helping pupils develop their creativity and skills
