Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with an established Alternative Provision school in Wellingborough that is looking for an experienced Construction Tutor to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on teaching and wants to use their industry knowledge to help young people develop valuable skills, confidence and pathways towards future employment.

The role offers a 4-day working week, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional looking for a better work-life balance while still making a real difference to young people.

The Role

As a Construction Tutor, you will deliver practical and engaging construction-based sessions to young people who may have struggled within mainstream education. You will support students to develop practical skills, industry knowledge and confidence, while helping them work towards relevant qualifications and prepare for future education, training or employment.

The successful candidate could have experience teaching or delivering Construction, Building, Carpentry, Brickwork, Plumbing, Electrical or another relevant trade subject.

You will need to be confident delivering practical sessions and adapting your approach to different abilities and learning needs. Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH, challenging behaviour or significant gaps in education would be highly desirable.

What We're Looking For

• Experience delivering Construction, Building or a relevant trade-based subject
• Relevant industry experience and/or a recognised teaching or training qualification
• Experience working with young people with SEN, SEMH, behavioural needs or barriers to learning
• A practical, patient and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
• A genuine interest in helping students develop practical and employability skills
• A strong commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive practical learning environment
