This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, tutor, sports coach, youth worker, mentor, or aspiring teacher who is keen to develop their classroom experience and explore a future career in education.

You will have the opportunity to teach and support pupils across the primary curriculum, working alongside experienced teachers and school leaders while developing your skills in lesson delivery, classroom management, pupil engagement, and supporting children's progress.

The Role

• Deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum using school planning and resources.

• Teach and support pupils across different subjects and year groups as required.

• Lead whole-class learning and take responsibility for the classroom when appropriate.

• Create a calm, structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

• Set clear expectations and manage behaviour consistently and fairly.

• Encourage pupils to remain focused, motivated, and actively involved in their learning.

• Adapt activities and teaching approaches to meet the needs of different learners.

• Provide appropriate support and encouragement to help pupils make progress.

• Build positive relationships with pupils and work effectively alongside teachers and support staff.

• Support pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and school events.

• Take part in relevant training and professional development opportunities.

About You

• Experience working with children or young people through education, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or a similar environment.

• Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with primary-aged pupils.

• Comfortable leading groups and taking responsibility for a classroom.

• A calm, patient, professional, and adaptable approach.

• Strong organisation, reliability, and resilience.

• The ability to manage behaviour and maintain a purposeful learning environment.

• A genuine interest in primary education and a desire to help children succeed.

• Enthusiasm for teaching across the primary curriculum.

• An ambition to develop a long-term career within teaching or education.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
