As a Primary Instructor, you will work across the primary curriculum, delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils with their learning and development. You will work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders while gaining valuable experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, pupil engagement, and supporting pupil progress.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons across the primary curriculum.

• Teach and support pupils across different subjects and year groups as required.

• Take responsibility for leading whole-class learning and classroom activities.

• Follow school planning, schemes of work, and provided resources.

• Create a calm, structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

• Establish clear expectations and manage behaviour consistently and effectively.

• Encourage pupils to participate actively and develop confidence in their learning.

• Adapt activities and teaching approaches to meet different learning needs.

• Provide appropriate support and encouragement to help pupils make progress.

• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, Teaching Assistants, and wider school staff.

• Support pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate.

• Contribute to enrichment activities, school events, and the wider school community.

• Take part in relevant training and professional development opportunities.

About You

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar setting.

• Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with primary-aged pupils.

• Comfortable leading groups and taking responsibility for classroom activities.

• A calm, patient, professional, and adaptable approach.

• Strong organisation, reliability, and resilience.

• The ability to manage behaviour and maintain a purposeful learning environment.

• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.

• Enthusiasm for teaching and supporting learning across the primary curriculum.

• A willingness to take on responsibility and develop your classroom practice.

• An ambition to develop a long-term career within education.
