Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Milton Keynes that is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher & SENDCO to join their team as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who wants to maintain a strong classroom presence while also taking responsibility for coordinating SEND provision across the school.

The successful candidate will spend 50% of their time teaching and 50% working as the school's SENDCO, providing an excellent balance between classroom practice and SEND leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

As Class Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.

• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment where children feel confident to learn.

• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to support individual learning needs.

• Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful learning environment.

• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other school staff to maximise pupil progress.

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil learning and development.

• Contribute to wider school activities, planning, assessment, and professional development.

As SENDCO:

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.

• Identify pupils with additional needs and ensure appropriate support is put in place.

• Oversee and review EHCPs, support plans, and pupil progress.

• Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, carers, and external professionals.

• Advise staff on inclusive teaching strategies and effective SEND practice.

• Monitor the impact of interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision.

• Ensure SEND processes and provision align with the SEND Code of Practice.

• Support assessments, referrals, transitions, and applications for additional support where required.

• Contribute to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing across the school.

• Support the development of the school's wider SEND and inclusion strategy.

You'll Be a Great Fit If You:

• Hold UK QTS and have experience teaching within a primary school.

• Have previous experience working with pupils with SEND and/or in an inclusion role.

• Hold the NASENCO qualification, or are willing to work towards it where appropriate.

• Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.

• Have excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Can confidently balance classroom teaching with SEND leadership responsibilities.

• Are able to build strong relationships with pupils, families, colleagues, and external professionals.

• Have a genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for children.

• Are calm, empathetic, proactive, and solution-focused.

• Can work effectively as part of a wider leadership and teaching team.
