A primary school in West Ealing is looking for a confident and experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join its team from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term basis, supporting pupils in the lead-up to their KS2 SATs.

This role is focused on delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils, helping them strengthen their understanding of key concepts in English and maths, build confidence and prepare for their end-of-KS2 assessments.

The school is looking for a teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements, who can identify gaps in learning and deliver focused sessions to help pupils make progress. You'll work closely with the Year 6 teaching team to ensure interventions are tailored to pupils' needs and complement their classroom learning.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils, focusing on the key skills and knowledge needed for SATs.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering small-group and targeted interventions across Year 6.
• Supporting pupils with SATs preparation in English and maths.
• Identifying gaps in learning and adapting sessions to address specific needs.
• Reinforcing key curriculum concepts, including reading comprehension, grammar, arithmetic and reasoning.
• Monitoring pupil progress and adapting interventions accordingly.
• Building pupils' confidence and helping them develop effective learning strategies.
• Working alongside Year 6 teachers to coordinate support and share progress.
• Helping pupils prepare for assessments while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.

Who Should Apply?

The school is looking for a qualified teacher with a strong understanding of KS2 and experience supporting pupils in preparation for SATs.

You'll need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and KS2 SATs.
• Experience teaching upper KS2, ideally Year 6.
• Confidence delivering targeted interventions in English and maths.
• The ability to identify gaps in learning and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to supporting pupils' progress and confidence.
