Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in the Wellingborough area.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain further experience within education. The role would suit aspiring teachers, graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants or individuals with previous classroom experience.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher and ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set.

You will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting students to remain focused throughout the lesson.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting students to remain engaged with their learning

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons

  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

  • Creating a safe and productive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, youth work or support setting

  • Be confident leading groups and managing classroom behaviour

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be adaptable, organised and proactive

  • Have a positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting young people

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor is beneficial but not essential.
