Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming school in the Milton Keynes area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning. We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with students and provide consistent support both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students with their learning, development and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to students

• Supporting pupils to access and engage with their learning

• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources

• Helping students overcome barriers to learning

• Supporting pupils with additional learning, behavioural or emotional needs

• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence

• Building positive and trusting relationships with students

• Helping students develop confidence and resilience

• Supporting students both academically and personally

• Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and other support professionals

• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting children and young people

• Patient, approachable and empathetic

• Confident building positive relationships with students

• Able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

• Adaptable and able to respond to different students' needs

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Committed to helping students achieve their potential

Previous experience working in a school would be beneficial but is not essential. We would also welcome applications from candidates with experience in:

• SEN/SEND

• Care or residential care

• Youth work

• Behaviour support

• Mentoring

• Sports coaching

• Children's services

• Community or support work
