Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school in the Milton Keynes area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or existing HLTA who is confident taking on additional responsibility within the classroom, leading learning activities and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading whole-class learning and covering lessons when required

• Delivering planned lessons, learning activities and interventions

• Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support

• Supporting pupils with a range of learning, behavioural and additional needs

• Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual needs

• Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment

• Monitoring pupil engagement and progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment

• Building positive, professional relationships with pupils

• Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience

• Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning

• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and other professionals

• Supporting and sharing good practice with Teaching Assistants and other support staff

• Contributing to the wider life and development of the school

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced education professional who is:

• Confident leading whole-class learning and small-group activities

• Experienced in supporting children and young people within an educational setting

• Able to manage behaviour effectively and calmly

• Confident adapting learning to meet different abilities and needs

• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

• Organised, proactive and able to work independently

• Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their potential

• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

• Committed to inclusive education and safeguarding

• Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a wider school team

Ideally, you will hold HLTA status or an appropriate Level 4 qualification, although we would also welcome applications from experienced Teaching Assistants who are ready to take the next step in their career.

Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs would be particularly beneficial.
