General Cover Teacher

A large and well-regarded secondary school in Ealing is seeking a General Cover Teacher to provide day-to-day cover across a range of subjects. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and adaptable teacher who enjoys working with young people and can quickly establish positive classroom routines.

Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

The Role

As a General Cover Teacher, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects.
• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain a positive, safe and productive learning environment.
• Support students in completing set work and remaining engaged in their learning.
• Manage behaviour effectively in line with the school's policies and expectations.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff across different year groups.
• Adapt confidently to different classroom settings and subject areas.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, learning and achievement.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised in the UK.
• A relevant degree or teaching qualification.
• Experience working within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly across different subjects and year groups.
• A professional, reliable and positive approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Salary:

Competitive daily rate dependent on experience and qualifications.
