Are you confident managing groups of young people and looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school?

We are working with secondary schools across Canterbury and surrounding areas who are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to provide general classroom cover.

This is a great opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers and those currently completing a degree in a curriculum-related subject, as well as anyone with experience working with young people.

No QTS required.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students are safe, well-behaved and remain on task with the work provided.

The role includes:

  • Providing general cover across KS3 and KS4 in the Canterbury area
  • Managing classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
  • Keeping students focused, engaged and on task
  • Following pre-prepared lesson plans and instructions
  • Maintaining a calm, positive classroom environment
  • Reporting any significant behaviour or issues to teaching staff

We're looking for:

  • A degree in a curriculum-related subject, or someone currently completing one - desirable
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Confidence in managing groups and challenging behaviour
  • A calm, professional and positive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear instructions
  • A genuine interest in working in education
