Full-time Year 6 teacher
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Bury, working through Tradewind Recruitment.
The school is looking for a confident and enthusiastic classroom practitioner who can deliver high-quality teaching while preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school. The successful teacher will have a strong understanding of the upper KS2 curriculum and be committed to ensuring pupils are challenged, supported and motivated to achieve their potential.
You will take responsibility for a Year 6 class, planning and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum, monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively to inform your teaching. You will also play an important role in preparing pupils for their SATs and supporting their academic and personal development as they approach the end of primary school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a Year 6 class across the primary curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons with clear learning objectives.
- Prepare pupils effectively for KS2 SATs and the transition to secondary education.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Provide appropriate challenge, intervention and support to ensure all pupils make progress.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and presentation.
- Create a positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident and motivated to learn.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals where appropriate.
You should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong experience teaching within KS2, ideally with recent Year 6 experience.
- A good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements.
- Excellent classroom management and the ability to maintain high expectations.
