A mainstream primary school in Ealing is seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to lead and teach within its Inclusion Hub, supporting KS1 pupils with additional needs.
This is a varied role combining direct teaching, personalised provision planning and leadership of a small support team. You will lead learning for a group of up to six pupils, adapting existing resources and developing weekly provision in line with pupils' EHCPs and Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) programmes.
You'll manage a team of three Teaching Assistants, work closely with Year 1 teachers and contribute to wider school cover when required. The school is looking for a qualified teacher with strong SEND experience who can deliver structured, individualised support while helping pupils make progress academically, socially and emotionally.
The position is available on a long-term basis, with full-time and part-time applicants considered.
The Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and teach within the Inclusion Hub, supporting up to six KS1 pupils with SEND.
- Adapt existing lesson planning and resources to meet pupils' individual learning needs.
- Create weekly timetables and plan provision in line with EHCPs, OT programmes and SaLT recommendations.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, reviewing provision and adapting teaching approaches where necessary.
- Manage and coordinate three Teaching Assistants, ensuring support is effectively planned and delivered.
- Liaise with Year 1 teachers to support curriculum continuity and appropriate opportunities for inclusion.
- Provide flexible teaching cover across the wider school, from EYFS through to Year 6, when required.
- Attend CPD sessions to develop practice and support the delivery of effective SEND provision.
- Make use of allocated PPA time to plan, assess and prepare resources.
