Maths Teacher with Senior Leadership Opportunity - South West Hertfordshire
Location: South West Hertfordshire (commutable from NW London, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans & buckinghamshire)
Post: Full-time, temporary to permanent
Start Date: January 2027
Are you an experienced Maths teacher ready to take on whole-school responsibility? Perhaps you're already an Assistant Headteacher or senior leader, or a Head of Department or middle leader looking for your next step?
Tradewind Secondary is looking for an experienced Maths teacher to join a popular, well-organised 11-18 academy in South West Hertfordshire. Alongside teaching Maths, the school would ideally like the successful candidate to take on a senior leadership role, such as Assistant Headteacher, with the exact area of responsibility shaped around your strengths and experience.
The school has over 1000 students, including a sixth form, state of the art facilities and has been rated as 'Good' consistently by Ofsted. Students enjoy coming to school, behaviour around the site is respectful, and reading is a particular strength. Staff benefit from a modern, purpose-built school site and good transport links by road and rail. The Maths department is well resourced and well organised, and the school can offer a permanent contract to the right candidate.
The Role:
- Teach Maths across a range of year groups, delivering engaging, high-quality lessons
- Take on a senior leadership responsibility, with the focus agreed according to your experience
- Contribute to whole-school priorities alongside the senior leadership team
- Support and develop colleagues, sharing good practice across the school
- Help maintain high standards of teaching, behaviour and student wellbeing
We are looking for Maths Teachers who:
- Hold QTS and have strong subject knowledge
- Have leadership experience, whether at senior or middle leader level, or are ready to step up
- Are passionate about teaching and can bring Maths to life for all learners
- Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
