Cover Supervisor - Hounslow

Are you confident working with young people and looking for flexible work in education? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking reliable, enthusiastic and confident individuals to support secondary schools across Hounslow on an ad hoc basis, whenever supply cover is required.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment, helping students stay focused and ensuring lessons run smoothly when their regular teacher is absent.

Previous experience working with young people is essential. This could include working in schools, youth work, mentoring, coaching, tutoring or other roles where you have supported young people and managed behaviour.

What will the role involve?

• Supervising classes of secondary school students and delivering pre-prepared lesson work.

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a calm, positive learning environment.

• Ensuring students remain on task and complete the work set by their teacher.

• Supporting students with instructions and encouraging participation.

• Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety guidance.

• Reporting any concerns, incidents or issues to the appropriate member of staff.

What we are looking for

To be eligible to work as a Cover Supervisor, you will need:

• Experience working with young people and the confidence to manage a group of students.

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• A professional, reliable and flexible approach.

• The ability to use your initiative and remain calm under pressure.

• A good standard of written and spoken English.

• A willingness to work across different secondary school settings.

• The right to work in the UK and the ability to complete the required safeguarding and compliance checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

• A degree is advantageous but is not always essential; relevant experience and suitability for the role are key.
