Year 1 Teacher - Droylsden, Tameside

Location: Droylsden, Tameside
Contract: Full-Time - Long-Term Maternity Cover
Start Date: October - January

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Droylsden, Tameside. This is a full-time, long-term maternity cover role starting in October and continuing until January.

The successful candidate will be confident teaching across the Year 1 curriculum, with a strong understanding of the transition from EYFS to KS1. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that support pupils' early development in reading, writing and mathematics, while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS and have recent experience teaching within a primary school.
  • Have a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum, particularly Year 1 expectations.
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Have excellent classroom management skills and establish clear routines and expectations.
  • Support pupils' development in phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable and organised, with a passion for helping young learners build confidence and achieve their potential.
