  • Delivering engaging and well-structured Psychology lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
  • Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their academic potential.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining high expectations.
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback where required.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership teams.
  • Adapting to different school environments and maintaining professional teaching standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting student achievement.
  • The ability to work independently and adapt confidently to different teaching environments.

Pay and Progression Opportunities

Daily Supply Rate: £150 - £170 per day

The daily supply rate offered will depend on relevant teaching experience, suitability for the assignment and the responsibilities involved.

Teachers with less experience in comparable supply assignments may initially be offered rates towards the lower end of the advertised range, while those with substantial relevant secondary teaching experience, strong subject knowledge and a proven record of successful classroom delivery may be considered for higher rates.

There may also be opportunities to progress towards the higher end of the advertised daily rate through:

  • Relevant teaching experience: Demonstrating extensive experience teaching Psychology, particularly at GCSE or A-Level.
  • Proven performance: Establishing a strong track record of effective teaching, classroom management and positive feedback from schools.
  • Increased responsibilities: Undertaking additional duties where agreed, such as planning lessons, assessing student work or contributing to departmental activities.
  • Longer-term assignments: Building successful working relationships with schools and taking on assignments requiring greater continuity and responsibility.

Progression within the advertised pay range is not automatic and will depend on the requirements of the assignment, relevant experience and agreed responsibilities.

Long-Term Contract Pay

For suitable long-term teaching assignments, pay will be offered in line with the applicable Inner London Teachers' Pay Scales, taking into account the teacher's qualifications, relevant experience and the responsibilities of the position.

All pay rates and assignment terms will be confirmed before an assignment begins.
