Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a range of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Lambeth and Wandsworth who are seeking confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support students and maintain high standards of learning in the absence of teaching staff.

The Role of a Cover Supervisor

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning by:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
  • Supervising and engaging students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Maintaining positive behaviour and a productive classroom environment.
  • Supporting students with their learning and responding to general questions.
  • Working across a variety of subjects and departments, making each day varied and rewarding.

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with a range of backgrounds and experiences, including:

  • Experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants.
  • Graduates considering a future career in teaching.
  • Individuals with transferable skills gained through coaching, mentoring, youth work, training, leadership or customer-facing roles.
  • Candidates with strong communication skills, confidence managing groups, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Previous classroom experience is beneficial but not essential. Full support and guidance will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
