Reception Teacher

Uxbridge, Hillingdon | ASAP or January 2027 Start | Full-Time, Long-Term

Salary: Outer London Pay Scale, MPS-UPS3 (£39,739-£62,496 per annum), depending on experience

The Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a primary school in Uxbridge seeking a committed Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team on a full-time, long-term basis.

The school is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, although applications are also welcome from teachers available from January 2027.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for a Reception class, delivering a well-planned Early Years curriculum and supporting children as they develop the communication, literacy, numeracy and social skills needed for a successful transition into Year 1.

The school is open to applications from both experienced Reception teachers and ECTs with a strong understanding of Early Years practice.

The Role

  • Take full responsibility for a Reception class.

  • Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework.

  • Develop effective continuous provision and purposeful learning opportunities indoors and outdoors.

  • Support early phonics, reading, writing and mathematical development.

  • Monitor children's progress through observation and assessment.

  • Adapt activities to support children with different starting points and learning needs.

  • Establish positive routines and expectations to support behaviour and independence.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider EYFS team.

  • Maintain effective communication with parents and colleagues.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience teaching in EYFS, ideally Reception.

  • A secure understanding of the EYFS statutory framework.

  • Knowledge of early phonics, communication and language development.

  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management skills.

  • The ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

  • A reliable, proactive and collaborative approach.
