Cover Supervisor - Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Help keep learning on track across a secondary school in Aylesbury. This role is suited to someone who can communicate clearly, establish expectations and provide consistent classroom supervision.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support day-to-day learning by supervising classes during the absence of teaching staff. You will work across subjects, using the lesson instructions and resources provided by the school. The role is varied, with the opportunity to support different classes and build experience in a secondary education setting. It could be a useful route into the education sector for someone who enjoys working with young people.
Responsibilities
Supervise lessons across a range of secondary subjects.
Explain the work and instructions left by the class teacher.
Encourage pupils to complete the tasks set and remain focused.
Manage behaviour in line with the school's expectations and procedures.
Deal with routine classroom queries and refer more serious concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
Requirements
Clear communication and the confidence to address a class.
A calm, fair and consistent approach to behaviour.
Good organisation, reliability and punctuality.
No specific subject qualification or QTS requirement has been supplied for this role.
