Are you passionate about food, nutrition and supporting young people in their learning? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Barnet, North London, who are seeking a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Food Technician to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an interest in food preparation and practical learning to play an important role in supporting the school's Food Technology department.

The Role

As a Food Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing ingredients, equipment and resources for practical Food Technology lessons.

• Ensuring classrooms and food preparation areas are clean, safe and organised.

• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health and safety.

• Supporting teaching staff during practical lessons where required.

• Managing stock levels and ordering food supplies and equipment.

• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and appliances.

• Ensuring all food preparation areas comply with relevant food safety regulations.

• Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Have an interest in food, cooking and nutrition.

• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.

• Have good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

• Have an understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.

• Be proactive, flexible and able to use their initiative.

• Ideally have previous experience working in a school, catering environment or food preparation role.
