Year 1 Primary teacher - Dagenham

Job role: Class teacher (full time)

Start date: September 2025 (or before)

Pay: M1 to M6 (£38,766 - £50,288)

Year group: Year 1

Location: Dagenham East (5 minute walk from Dagenham East district line station)

Tradewind are working with a supportive and friendly school in the heart of Dagenham, who are looking to appoint a Year 1 teacher for September. This school is two-form entry, providing planning support from a partner teacher and within phases. Additionally, the senior leadership team are friendly, knowledgeable and always present around the school. The school was named a "School of Excellence" for its role in supporting the well-being of its pupils, recognising its commitment to emotional well-being and creating an environment where children thrive. The curriculum is ambitious and well-structured, allowing pupils to build on their knowledge effectively

Skills & Experience of the Ideal Teacher:

  • Proven experience in Year 1 or KS1 is desirable
  • Experience teaching phonics and early reading through Letters and Sounds
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Ability to deliver engaging lessons that support academic excellence
  • Skilled in assessing pupil progress and using data to inform teaching
  • Excellent communication with parents, colleagues, and leadership

Compliance Essentials

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Professional references covering the last 2 years
  • CV that covers work history since leaving formal education
