Are you creative, organised, and passionate about the arts? We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Art Technician to join our vibrant Art & Design department, a diverse and inclusive secondary school located in Newham.
About the Role:
As an Art Technician, you will support the smooth running of the art department, assisting teachers in preparing and setting up materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, and helping create a stimulating and inspiring environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and organise art materials and resources for practical lessons
Set up and clear away equipment before and after lessons
Support students during practical sessions as directed by teaching staff
Maintain and manage stock levels and place orders when required
Assist in the preparation and mounting of student artwork for displays and exhibitions
Ensure art rooms are safe, tidy, and well-maintained
About You:
A strong interest in art and design, with relevant technical skills
Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in a similar role or in an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
A commitment to supporting young people and helping them achieve their creative potential
