Learning Support Assistant
Location: Kettering
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Permanent

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop essential skills, and reach their full potential within classrooms that celebrate diversity and encourage personal growth.

About the Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with additional learning needs across a range of subjects

  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans in partnership with teachers and SENCOs

  • Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, physical disabilities, or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or autism

  • Help manage classroom behaviour to encourage a positive and focused learning atmosphere

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as required

  • Support students during break and lunch times to ensure their safety and social inclusion

  • Keep accurate records of support activities and student progress

We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people, preferably in an educational setting

  • A patient, empathetic, and caring approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

  • Willingness to learn and respond flexibly to the needs of individual students

  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies
