We are working with a number of vibrant and inclusive secondary schools across Northampton, all of which are looking to welcome a Music Teacher to their departments from September 2025. These are full-time teaching roles, with options for either long-term or permanent appointments based on your preferences and career path.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities in some schools

  • Cover a broad range of content, from performance and composition to listening and appraisal

  • Use instruments, technology, and software to bring lessons to life and enhance learning outcomes

  • Encourage student participation in ensembles, choirs, school productions, and extra-curricular music clubs

  • Support coursework and exam preparation for GCSE and/or A-Level Music

  • Help shape the department's curriculum and contribute to whole-school performances and events

  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that nurtures creativity and confidence

Who We're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with a strong grounding in music education

  • Confident teaching a range of musical styles, instruments, and theory across secondary age groups

  • Comfortable using music tech such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, GarageBand, or Sibelius

  • Able to engage and motivate learners of all abilities through interactive, practical teaching

  • Strong classroom management and a commitment to fostering a love of music in every student

  • Open to both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners with a track record in Music education
