Job Description

Are you a passionate and dynamic youth worker ready to make a significant impact in a secondary school setting? We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our team in Blackpool. This unique role involves managing classes and providing vital support to students who need extra guidance and engagement.

This is a temporary role with the strong possibility of becoming a permanent position, offering a fantastic long-term career path. We are looking for someone to start in October 2025 or sooner.

About the Role

This isn't a typical classroom teaching job. As a Youth Worker, you'll use your skills to connect with students on a personal level, building trust and rapport to help them succeed both academically and personally. You'll be responsible for managing classes and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. Your focus will be on behaviour management, mentoring, and fostering a sense of community among students.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced youth worker or a professional with a background in youth support, mentoring, or social work who wants to transition into an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Class Management: Lead and manage classes, ensuring all students are engaged and following school procedures.

  • Mentoring & Support: Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to students, helping them navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges.

  • Behavioral Support: Use your youth work skills to de-escalate conflicts, manage challenging behavior, and promote positive conduct.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, school leadership, and parents to support student well-being and academic progress.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experienced Youth Worker: A proven track record of working with young people, particularly in a school or community setting.

  • Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to build trust with students and staff.

  • Resilient & Empathetic: The ability to stay calm under pressure and a deep understanding of the issues facing young people today.

  • A Positive Role Model: A natural ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.

If you are a proactive and dedicated professional who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people in Blackpool, we encourage you to apply today.
