We are recruiting a dedicated Careers Advisor to join a forward-thinking college in Northampton this October. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in careers guidance, student support, or employability coaching to make a real impact.
The Role:
As a Careers Advisor, you will provide impartial, high-quality careers advice to students across a wide range of courses. You'll work both one-to-one and with groups to support progression into university, apprenticeships, training or employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 careers guidance sessions and create tailored action plans
Run workshops on CV writing, job searching, interview prep, and UCAS applications
Support whole-college initiatives including careers fairs, guest speaker events, and employer engagement
Build and maintain strong links with local employers, training providers, and universities
Stay informed on labour market trends and further education routes
Keep accurate records and contribute to destination tracking and student progress reviews
What We're Looking For:
Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (or working towards it) preferred
Background in education, youth work, or employability
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with young people
Confident delivering advice in both group and 1:1 settings
Proactive, organised, and able to manage your own workload
