Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Romford (accessible by car - on-site parking - and local buses)
Year Group: Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 SEN
Hours: 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday term time only
Pay: £90 - £100 per day (PAYE)
Start Date: ASAP
About the School
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming primary school in Romford, Havering, seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant for one to one support of pupils with complex SEN.
The school has spacious grounds near Havering Park and a nurturing environment with a Forest School provision that encourages wellbeing and outdoor learning. This is a great opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Teaching Assistant to make a difference.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will
Support pupils in KS1 and KS2 with ASD, SEMH, and ADHD.
Help children access learning and build independence.
Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation.
Adapt activities using differentiation.
Work with teachers, the SENCO, and parents.
Maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
Skills and Qualities
Experience supporting children with SEN.
Knowledge of differentiation and adaptive teaching.
Understanding of emotional regulation and behaviour support.
Patience, resilience, and strong communication.
Team-player with a professional, caring attitude.
Desirable: PECS or Makaton knowledge.
Requirements
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
Two professional references from the last two years.
Up to date CV with full employment history.
Relevant SEN or school experience.
