Science Technician

We are recruiting Science Technicians on behalf of a number of vibrant and diverse secondary schools in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity for organised, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy practical work and want to support young people's learning in science.

About the Role

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and safe science lessons. You will help prepare and maintain laboratory materials and equipment across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, working closely with teaching staff and other technicians.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparing and setting up materials, solutions, and equipment for science experiments

  • Assisting teachers and students during practical sessions

  • Maintaining laboratory cleanliness and ensuring all safety procedures are followed

  • Managing and storing resources, chemicals, and equipment safely

  • Supporting the smooth running of the science department

About You

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Organised, reliable, and proactive

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Interested in science and practical learning

  • Ideally experienced in a school laboratory or similar setting (training can be provided)
