SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working with an Outstanding-rated, two-form entry primary school in Hackney to recruit an experienced Year 1 Teacher for a January 2026 start, this is a maternity leave.

📍 Location: Hackney, East London

📅 Contract: January 2026 - July 2026 (with potential to continue into the Autumn 2026 term)

💰 Pay: MPS3-MPS6 (£215-£258 per day, PAYE)

🧑‍🏫 Experience Required: Minimum of two full years of teaching experience (No ECTs)

✨ About the Role

You will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class of 28 pupils, including one child with an EHCP supported by a full-time LSA.

Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that build on the foundations set in Reception

Implement the school's established phonics and early literacy programmes

Work closely with your year-group partner to plan collaboratively and share best practice

Foster curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning among your pupils

This position offers genuine potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

👩‍🏫 The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a teacher who:

Holds QTS and has at least two years of full-time classroom experience

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum, phonics, and formative assessment

Is reflective, organised, and proactive, with excellent communication skills

Brings warmth, enthusiasm, and creativity to their classroom

Values teamwork and is committed to making a difference within a vibrant community school
