We're recruiting Pastoral Support Officers to join caring and inclusive secondary schools across Daventry from November 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with students who need extra support with behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing-helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom.

About the Role:
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you'll play a key role in fostering a safe, supportive, and respectful school environment. You'll work directly with students, staff, and families to remove barriers to learning and ensure every young person feels supported and included.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering 1:1 and group pastoral interventions to support student wellbeing

  • Supporting attendance and behaviour strategies, including daily check-ins and progress monitoring

  • Acting as a trusted adult for students who need additional emotional or behavioural support

  • Managing internal reflection or reset spaces to support restorative practice

  • Assisting with safeguarding duties, including identifying and escalating concerns

  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies

  • Promoting resilience, inclusion, and respectful behaviour across the school

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, mentoring, or similar settings

  • A calm, empathetic, and confident approach to managing behaviour and emotional needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism

  • A team player who's passionate about inclusion and student wellbeing

  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices (or willingness to undergo training)
