Unqualified Science Teacher - Secondary School (Northamptonshire)

About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate and motivated Unqualified Science Teacher to join one of our thriving partner secondary schools in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a science graduate or aspiring teacher who is eager to gain hands-on classroom experience and make a real difference in students' education.

Working alongside experienced educators, you will help deliver engaging science lessons, support practical experiments, and inspire curiosity in subjects such as biology, chemistry, and physics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and supervise classes in the absence of a qualified teacher.

  • Encourage student engagement and maintain a positive learning environment.

  • Assist in the setup and supervision of practical science experiments.

  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students.

  • Uphold school behaviour and safeguarding policies at all times.

Requirements

  • A degree in Science or a related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science).

  • A strong interest in teaching and education.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Confidence to lead a classroom with guidance and support.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).

  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school or tutoring setting.

  • Knowledge of the UK secondary curriculum.

  • Willingness to work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the future.
