SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Pay: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (with potential to become permanent)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in the Wellingborough area who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive SEND department.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
Provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping students access the curriculum and reach their individual targets
Assist class teachers in adapting learning materials and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
Promote students' independence, confidence and social development
Liaise with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to support each student's progress

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Experience supporting young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
A calm, empathetic and resilient approach to working with students with additional needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsA valid DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind)
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology degree, or equivalent experience) is desirable but not essential.
