Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary School

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Pay: £110 - £130 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (with the potential to become permanent)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a thriving secondary school in the Corby area who are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team and play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.

The Role:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher

  • Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to students across KS3 and KS4

  • Assist with planning and preparation of resources in collaboration with subject teachers

  • Lead small-group intervention sessions to help students make progress in key subjects

  • Support the wider school community, contributing to a positive and inclusive environment

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. proven classroom cover experience)
Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and effective classroom management skills
A positive, proactive and flexible approach to supporting students and staff
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind)
