A supportive school in Blackpool is seeking a dedicated, full-time Specialist TA to join their inclusion team. This is a crucial role supporting students with complex needs who require intensive, tailored support to access the curriculum and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
1:1 and Small Group Intervention: Provide targeted support for pupils with complex SEMH/SEND, including managing challenging behaviour, anxiety, and developmental needs.
Emotional and Behavioural Support: Consistently implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies, fostering emotional regulation and resilience.
EHCP Implementation: Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to ensure all provisions of the student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) are effectively met.
Curriculum Access: Differentiate activities and resources to remove barriers to learning and promote successful inclusion in the classroom.
Mentorship and Advocacy: Act as a key mentor and role model, building strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, and external agencies.

Essential Requirements & Skills:
We are looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant who possesses:
Proven, demonstrable experience working directly with children or young people with SEMH needs and/or complex SEND (Autism, challenging behaviour, etc.)
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Youth Work, or equivalent experience in SEN support).
Exceptional resilience, patience, and a non-judgemental approach.
Practical knowledge of de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies.
A robust commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check.
