PRU Teaching Assistants Needed - Join Tradewind Recruitment

Contract Type: Full-Time / Long-Term / Day-to-Day Supply / Temp- Perm

Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be working with several Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Stockport, supporting young people who have been excluded from mainstream education or require additional emotional and behavioural support.

We're looking for dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants who are passionate about helping students re-engage with learning and reach their potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.

About the Role:

• Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis with learning and behaviour.

• Encourage positive engagement and help pupils develop emotional and social skills.

• Assist teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery.

• Work closely with pastoral and SEN teams to meet individual student needs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs.

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

• Strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships.

• Team player with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
