Are you a dedicated and compassionate Foundation Year 1 (FY1) Teaching Assistant or an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) professional looking for a truly rewarding role?
A welcoming and inclusive Blackpool Academy is seeking a committed individual to join our highly dedicated Nurture Team, providing essential 1:2 support for two wonderful children with Autism and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
The Role: Making a Difference, Every Day:
Position: Foundation Year 1 (FY1) Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant (1:2)
Focus: Supporting two children with Autism/ASD in their learning and development.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, commencing immediately and running until at least Christmas, with a strong view to continue until July 2026 based on a successful match.
- Term time only, temporary contract for 6 weeks initially then until July 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be instrumental in the children's daily success, including:
Tailoring Activities: Planning and delivering engaging activities that are specifically tailored to the children's individual requirements and learning styles.
EHCP Feedback: Providing crucial feedback and evidence to inform and support the delivery of their existing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) goals.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with the School SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and the Nurture Team to ensure integrated support.
Parental Communication: Providing effective, professional, and positive feedback to parents/carers at the end of each day.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a SEN TA or someone with demonstrable experience supporting children with SEN and ASD/Autistic spectrum conditions. Ideally, you will have recent school experience and be:
Passionate about working with children with SEN, particularly Autism/ASD.
Warm, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education.
Ready to embrace and contribute to our nurturing and supportive school environment.
