A thriving and inclusive 3-form entry primary school in the Hulme area of Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to join its friendly and supportive team. The role is to start immediately and will continue as an ongoing temporary position, with the potential to become a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, playing a vital role in supporting pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. The teacher will be expected to create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum.
- Building upon pupils' early learning experiences to develop strong foundations in reading, writing, and maths.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes curiosity, confidence, and independence.
- Using assessment effectively to track progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
- Working collaboratively with the two other Year 1 teachers to share planning, ideas, and good practice.
- Maintaining excellent communication with parents and carers to support learning and development at home.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school through events, clubs, and enrichment activities.
To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:
- Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
- Legal right to work in the UK
