SEN Teaching Assistant
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a warm, welcoming SEN school in Kingston that supports children with moderate learning difficulties. The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. The school prides itself on its nurturing environment and committed staff, all working together to help pupils thrive.
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: ASAP to July 2026 - will view to extend
Working hours: Full time, school hours, term time only
Key stages: Supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4
Class size: approximately 10 children
Location: Kingston
Transport: Accessible by car, local buses and trains
Salary: £95 - £105 per day (Based on experience)
No child based qualifications required but an open mind, passion for supporting chilling with SEN and a willingness to learn
Teacher compliance required:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Two recent education-related references
Full, up-to-date CV
Proof of address and photo ID
Overseas police checks if required
Safeguarding training (Tradewind can provide this)
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Be patient, caring and enthusiastic about supporting pupils with additional needs
Have strong behaviour management and a nurturing approach
Be adaptable and confident differentiating support for a range of abilities
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
Be proactive, reliable and committed to helping children progress
Bring energy, encouragement and a calm presence to the classroom
