SEN Teaching Assistant - Wellingborough

Contract: Full-time / Long-term

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated, patient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in our partner schools across Wellingborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for helping young people and supporting their social, emotional and educational development.

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to ensure students receive the tailored assistance they need to thrive. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in SEN, or those looking to develop their skills within the field with the training and guidance Tradewind provides.

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Assisting with adapted learning activities set by the teacher or SENCO

  • Supporting students' emotional regulation, communication and confidence

  • Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

  • Contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and daily progress notes

  • A caring, patient and resilient individual

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • Experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs (desirable)

  • Ability to remain calm, adaptable and proactive in a busy school environment

  • Genuine passion for supporting SEND pupils and promoting inclusive education
