SEN Teaching Assistant - Corby

Location: Corby & surrounding Northamptonshire areas

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in one of our partner schools in Corby. This is a rewarding role ideal for individuals passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, adapting resources, and implementing support strategies

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation, social skills and positive behaviour

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent

  • A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs

  • Reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in an SEN, care, youth work or support role

  • Training in Team Teach, Autism Awareness, or related SEN areas

  • Interest in progressing into roles such as HLTA, behaviour mentor, or future teacher training
